Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University implements the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 – “Gender Equality” by ensuring equal rights and opportunities for students and staff regardless of gender. According to the university’s strategic documents, the share of women in management positions should not be lower than 30%. Currently, the university demonstrates a strong level of gender balance in its governance structures. In particular, 58 out of 79 heads of structural divisions are women, representing 73% of leadership positions. In addition, 3 out of 6 members of the executive governing body are women, accounting for 50% of the board. The university follows the principles of non-discrimination, academic integrity, and equal access to education and career development. Institutional policies support the development of women’s leadership, the advancement of young researchers, and the active participation of students in academic and managerial initiatives. Special attention is given to creating a safe educational environment, preventing gender-based violence, and promoting a culture of mutual respect. Through educational programs, research activities, and social initiatives, the university contributes to strengthening gender equality and social justice in the region.
  • Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted an event contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality)

    A legal awareness meeting for students and young people was held with the participation of Abzal Temirgalievich Kuspan, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and member of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial-Legal Reform. During the meeting, several socially significant issues were discussed, including the illegality of bride kidnapping, fraud, drug abuse, youth-related crimes, and illegal financial activities. Updated legal norms and regulations were explained to the participants. The main objective of the event was to promote legal awareness among young people, prevent offenses, and encourage respect for human rights and gender equality.

  • Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted a forum contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality).

    Within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle, the university organized the forum “Stop Stalking: A Step Towards a Safer Society.”

    The main goal of the forum was to increase legal awareness among young people and provide information about stalking, forced marriage, and domestic violence, as well as legal mechanisms for protection.

    Speakers included the Human Rights Commissioner for the Atyrau region, members of the Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy, representatives of the social services center for victims of domestic violence, and law enforcement officials.

    The forum aimed to prevent gender-based violence, protect the rights of women and girls, and promote gender equality in society.

  • Three-Day Leadership Seminar for Girls Has Started at Atyrau University

    Today, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University launched the seminar-training “NextGen Leaders: The Path of Leadership for Girls.” The event is organized within the framework of the Tomiris project with the support of the Atyrau City Youth Resource Center and is aimed at developing leadership skills and civic engagement among girls in the region.
    Out of 140 applicants, 70 participants were selected to take part in the training. The opening ceremony was held in a formal setting. Head of the Youth Resource Center, Mansiya Sagidollayeva, stated:
    “We organized this event with the aim of supporting the girls of Atyrau Region in becoming leaders in various modern fields. Over the course of three days, the training will cover important topics such as etiquette, psychology, and the role of Kazakh girls in society. The project has been in preparation for six months, and we carefully selected the speakers based on the interests of the participants. I wish everyone great success!”
    The seminar program is focused on the personal and professional development of the participants. On the first day, the girls attended lectures on etiquette and psychology delivered by Saya Abdugani, founder of the School of Etiquette of Kazakhstan and a distinguished graduate of the Austrian School of Etiquette named after Empress Elisabeth.
    In the following days, relevant topics such as “The Image of the Kazakh Girl,” “The Role of the Kazakh Girl in Society,” “Leadership,” and “Media” will be discussed. Guest speakers include Boston University graduate, documentarian, and influencer Aliya Ashim, as well as Meyrim Yerdaulet, Head of the Information Policy Department of the Atyrau Region Police Department, police lieutenant, and journalist.
