Debate Tournament “Tauelsizdik - Tugyrym” Held
In celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a debate tournament titled “Tauelsizdik - Tugyrym” (“Independence Is My Foundation”) was held among students of the Religious Studies educational program. During the intellectually engaging debate, participants presented well-reasoned arguments on topics such as the historical significance of national independence, national identity, secular society, and spiritual values. The event contributed to the development of students’ critical thinking skills and fostered civic consciousness.
In addition, a roundtable was organized dedicated to the 1065th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Karakhanid State, where the role of Islam in the development of Turkic civilization and the history of statehood was widely discussed. Students provided insightful comments supported by academic sources.
The event was attended by Kakharman Rakhmetuly Musaev, Head of the Department of Religious Affairs, who emphasized the importance of maintaining religious stability, strengthening secular principles, and enhancing the religious literacy of youth in independent Kazakhstan.
At the conclusion of the tournament, active students were recognized for their achievements. Notably, second-year student of the Religious Studies program, Rayimbek Nurshakhanov, was awarded a 50% educational grant for outstanding academic performance and active community involvement.
