“Abai Kunanbaiuly’s Words of Edification: A Path to Spiritual Maturity”

An educational and intellectual literary competition titled “Abai Kunanbaiuly’s Words of Edification: A Path to Spiritual Maturity” was held at the Scientific Library of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov in collaboration with the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature and School-Gymnasium No. 34. During the competition, participants explored the deep philosophical meanings embedded in Abai Kunanbaiuly’s Words of Edification and conducted literary and analytical interpretations. In the second stage, they presented structured reflections using the cinquain method, providing comprehensive insights into the Words of Edification. The third stage required participants to prepare and defend posters based on Abai’s prose works. As a result, first-year students majoring in Kazakh Language and Literature demonstrated strong academic performance, while school students distinguished themselves by reciting Abai’s Words of Edification expressively and from memory. The Scientific Library staff prepared a book exhibition dedicated to the poet’s works and introduced participants to Abai’s literary legacy and the research conducted by scholars who have studied his oeuvre. Additionally, School-Gymnasium No. 34 presented students with copies of the book “Abai’s Words of Edification,” while the university gifted the school staff a Letter of Appreciation from the Rector and K. O. Jusip’s monograph “The King of the Kazakh Romance” dedicated to the work of I. Zhakhanov.
