“Sh. Ualikhanov’s Scientific and Publicistic Heritage and Its Relevance Today”

A roundtable titled “Sh. Ualikhanov’s Scientific and Publicistic Heritage and Its Relevance Today” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.

The event aimed to examine Shokan Ualikhanov’s works in the context of modern society and to highlight the significance of his legacy in the field of journalism.

The roundtable was opened by Bekezhan Omirbek Kadyrkhanuly, Head of the Department of Journalism and Public Relations and Doctor of Philosophy, who introduced the purpose and objectives of the event to the participants.

The discussion was attended by Ainagul Berikkyzy Islyamova, Head of the Scientific-Analytical, Mediation, and Interethnic Relations Monitoring Department of the “Public Consent” Center of the Atyrau Regional Internal Policy Department, along with senior analyst Shynargul Zhanayevna Temirbayeva, as well as students of the Department of Religious Studies, Journalism, and Information.

Guests shared their experiences and emphasized the importance of Ualikhanov’s legacy. Senior lecturer Gulsara Zholamankyzy Kaiyrova presented a report titled “His Highly Valued Work and Reports in Saint Petersburg.”

The roundtable was moderated by senior lecturer and master’s student Nurgul Nurlankyzy Nurlanova. Faculty and students highlighted in their presentations the significance of Ualikhanov’s publicistic and scientific heritage for contemporary journalism.

Students also presented creative video projects under the theme “If Shokan Lived Today…” At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to faculty members and students for their active participation.

The roundtable underscored that Shokan Ualikhanov’s scientific and publicistic heritage remains closely connected to modern society. Participants analyzed the relevance of his works for journalism, while students demonstrated the contemporary importance of his legacy through creative projects. The event was dedicated to promoting the heritage of a figure who provides spiritual guidance to younger generations.
