A round table titled “The Role of Translation in Expanding the Linguistic Capital of Kazakhstani Society” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The event was organised by the Department of Translation Studies and Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Multilingual Education.
During the meeting, a congratulatory letter from Chairman of the Board – Rector Salamat Idrissov was presented to renowned educator and Associate Professor Kulash Bayniyeva in recognition of her contribution to the development of education and science at Atyrau University. The scholar was also awarded the Akhmet Baitursynov Bronze Medal, presented to educators for their professional contribution.
The academic and educational discussion focused extensively on the role of translation in contemporary society, its importance in developing the linguistic environment, and its contribution to creating a multilingual environment.
The round table also featured presentations that provided a scholarly analysis of the research and teaching contributions of Kulash Temirgalikyzy Bayniyeva, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Translation Studies and Foreign Languages, in the fields of translation studies and foreign language teaching.
The meeting aimed to contribute to the development of society’s linguistic capital through translation, as well as to strengthen professional and cultural ties between languages.
