One of the main resources of the Atyrau region is its “black gold”. The history of Kazakh oil is not only a record of industrial and economic achievements, but also a history intertwined with the lives of the people who devoted their entire careers to the development of the industry.
Preserving and passing on to future generations the professional achievements, dedication and life stories of outstanding oil industry specialists is one of the important responsibilities of today’s generation. After all, the history of a country cannot be fully understood without recognising the contribution of its working people.
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has placed particular emphasis on raising the status of working people in society and recognising their contribution. As part of these initiatives, the Scientific Library of Atyrau University has enriched its collection with a new book dedicated to the Telishev family, whose members made a significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh oil industry.
The book tells the story of several generations of one family, highlighting their dedicated work in the oil industry, professional careers and contribution to the industrial development of their native region.
Salamat Nurmukhanuly, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, presented the content and significance of the publication and emphasised the importance of passing on to future generations the exemplary legacy of families who devoted their lives to the oil industry.
We express our gratitude to Gulzhainap Amanzhankyzy Telisheva for donating the book to the collection of the University’s Scientific Library. She is a descendant of the Telishev family and currently also contributes to the development of Atyrau University.
The history of a family built through dedicated work is an integral part of the history of the country. Publications such as this valuable book help instil in younger generations the importance of hard work, professional integrity and service to one’s homeland.
