A scientific and methodological seminar entitled “A Meaningful Journey Dedicated to Science and Education: Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence” was held at Atyrau University named after Khalel Dosmukhameduly in honor of the 60th anniversary of Galiya Saltanova, Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Academician of the Kazakhstan Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
The seminar was opened by Salamat Idrisov, Chairman of the Management Board and Rector of Atyrau University named after Khalel Dosmukhameduly, who congratulated the participants on this significant occasion. In his address, he noted that Galiya Aisievna’s professional career serves as an example of responsibility and continuous dedication to educating the younger generation. He also highlighted the new challenges facing the higher education system in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies and emphasized the importance of enhancing educators’ digital competencies.
The seminar featured insightful presentations devoted to current issues in education and artificial intelligence.
The first presentation was delivered by Askhat Yeralyuly, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Atyrau University named after Khalel Dosmukhameduly. His presentation, entitled “University Education in the Context of Digital Transformation: Blended Learning and the Integration of Artificial Intelligence,” addressed contemporary approaches to higher education.
Akmaral Abdigalieva, Head of the AI HUB Artificial Intelligence Center and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technologies of Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev, delivered a presentation on “The Modern Educator in the Era of Digital Transformation: Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence and the Experience of the University AI HUB.”
During the seminar, Marzhan Galimzhanova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Director of the Atyrau Regional Institute for Professional Development, a branch of the “Orleu” National Center for Professional Development, JSC, shared her experience through a presentation entitled “A Scientific and Methodological Model for Developing Teachers’ Functional Literacy through the Integration of AI Technologies.”
Malika Moyatdinkyzy, Associate Professor and PhD of Berdakh Karakalpak State University, presented a report on “Opportunities for the Application of Artificial Intelligence-Based Adaptive Learning Systems in Higher Education Institutions,” focusing on the role of modern AI-driven educational technologies in improving the quality of education.
Nursulu Temirbolatkyzy, Candidate of Psychological Sciences and Associate Professor, introduced the presentation “The ‘PsyConnect – Junior and Family’ Startup: An Innovative Solution for Supporting the Psychological Well-Being of Children and Families,” where she highlighted the potential of digital psychological support tools.
In addition, Arnur Akylbekkyzy, Manager of Atyrau IT Hub, delivered a presentation entitled “Artificial Intelligence: Regional Development and New Opportunities,” providing information on innovative projects and technological initiatives being implemented in the region.
During the event, the anniversary celebrant, Professor Galiya Aisievna, was presented with a congratulatory letter from Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as an Honorary Certificate from the Atyrau Regional Maslikhat. She was also awarded a special badge in recognition of her significant contribution to the development of Atyrau University.
Words of congratulations continued from her father, Aisa Sarsenuly Saltanov, as well as from her relatives and family members.
Furthermore, heads of structural divisions of Atyrau University named after Khalel Dosmukhameduly, colleagues from the Academic Affairs Department who had worked alongside Galiya Aisievna for many years, members of the first team of the Center for New Information Technologies established in 2000, as well as her former classmates and colleagues, expressed their heartfelt wishes and warm congratulations.
At the conclusion of the event, the staff of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies wished the anniversary celebrant continued creative success, good health, family well-being, and new achievements in her academic and pedagogical activities.
The scientific and methodological seminar not only provided an opportunity to discuss pressing issues related to the implementation of digital transformation and artificial intelligence technologies in education, but also became a meaningful and inspiring event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Galiya Aisievna Saltanova, a distinguished scholar and educator who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of science and education.
