Aquaculture Development Issues Discussed at the International Forum

As a continuation of the international forum, a roundtable discussion titled “Development of Aquaculture and Scientific Research in the Caspian Sea” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.

During the event, participants discussed the prospects for aquaculture development in the region, the training of qualified specialists for the industry, the implementation of joint research projects, and measures aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of the biological resources of the Caspian basin.

Presentations were delivered by Marat B. Murziyev, Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region; Serik S. Sermagambetov, Chairman of the Fisheries Committee; Salamat N. Idrissov, Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University; as well as representatives of the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In an open discussion format, participants exchanged views on current industry challenges, examined existing issues and potential solutions, and identified promising areas for future international and scientific cooperation.

For the university, as a leading regional center for the training of fisheries specialists, this event was of particular importance. The forum served as an effective platform for strengthening cooperation between science, education, and industry, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and promoting international collaboration in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture.
