A ceremonial event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Military Department was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, marking one of the significant milestones in the university’s history.
The anniversary celebration brought together the university leadership, representatives of military institutions, veterans, faculty members, alumni, and students.
Opening the event, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Salamat Idrisov, highlighted the Military Department’s important role in the development of military education and military-patriotic training in the region.
“Today, we have gathered to celebrate one of the important milestones in the history of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University—the 10th anniversary of the Military Department. Established in 2016 in accordance with a Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the department has become a key center for military education and military-patriotic upbringing in the region. Over the past decade, it has successfully fulfilled its mission and made a significant contribution to training a qualified military reserve for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During this period, 615 graduates were awarded the rank of Reserve Lieutenant, while 201 graduates received the rank of Junior Reserve Sergeant. These achievements represent not only measurable results but also a valuable contribution to the nation’s security. Currently, 258 students are undergoing military training at the department.
The 10-year history of the Military Department is the result of our collective efforts. I am confident that the department will continue to train highly qualified officers and sergeants who will serve in the fields of national security and defense, while further strengthening the patriotic education of young people,” said the Rector.
As part of the celebration, the history of the Military Department and its achievements were presented, and a special commemorative video was screened. Representatives of the Atyrau Region Department of Defense Affairs, military veterans’ organizations, and the “Sarmat” Specialized Military School also delivered congratulatory remarks and expressed their best wishes.
During the ceremony, faculty members and staff who made significant contributions to the establishment and development of the Military Department were honored with awards. The department also received Letters of Appreciation from the Military Education and Science Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akim of Atyrau Region, the Akim of Atyrau City, the Atyrau Regional Education Department, and the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
As part of the anniversary program, special recognition was given to the department’s first graduates. A video presentation featuring their student years and military training experience was shown. The first graduates, who studied during the department’s formative years, were awarded Letters of Appreciation and shared their congratulatory messages.
The event also featured performances by a military orchestra, artistic presentations by students of the Military Department, and a ceremonial defile program.
Over its ten-year history, the Military Department has become one of the university’s key structural units, making a substantial contribution to the preparation of qualified military reserve personnel for the fields of national security and defense. Today, the department’s accumulated experience and achievements provide a strong foundation for the continued success of its military education and military-patriotic training initiatives.
The 10th anniversary of the Military Department is a tribute to the past, a source of pride in today’s achievements, and a vivid expression of confidence in the future.
