Meeting on Expanding International Scientific Cooperation Held at Atyrau University

At Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, an official online meeting was organized at the initiative of Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Bakhyt Altynbasov with the Karakalpak Research Institute of Humanities under the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to expand international partnership and promote internationalization.

The meeting aimed to strengthen international relations, develop academic cooperation, and implement joint scientific projects. During the discussion, the parties considered opportunities for developing dual-degree programs, expanding research activities, and publishing joint scientific articles.

Director of the “H.B. Tabyldiyev Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the Caspian Region,” Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Saipulla Sapanov provided information about major projects being implemented by scientific centers and ministries in Kazakhstan and proposed participation in joint scientific projects and collaborative publications.

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Aldar Sarsenov emphasized the deep historical connections and similarities between the Kazakh and Karakalpak peoples. Professor Akkali Akhmet highlighted the importance of conducting research related to citizens conscripted from Nukus, based on archival materials presented at a summit in Turkistan, and invited participants to engage in joint scientific projects in this field.

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Ulzhan Akhmetova discussed archival data concerning the historical status of the Khorezm Khanate and noted that research on this topic would continue. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Zhamiga Tanatarova emphasized the common historical aspects shared by Kazakh and Karakalpak history and expressed support for collaborative research initiatives.

Candidate of Philological Sciences Zhaily Baltogayeva shared her experience of conducting research during a scientific visit to the Karakalpak Research Institute of Humanities.

Deputy Director of the institute, PhD Medet Dauletiyarov introduced the institute’s activities and expressed full readiness to sign a bilateral memorandum and implement joint scientific projects. Heads of the institute’s departments in history, ethnography, archaeology, language, literature, and folklore also participated in the meeting and confirmed their interest in cooperation.

In conclusion, the meeting became an important step toward elevating scientific and academic relations between the two institutions to a new level. The university confirmed its readiness to expand international cooperation, implement joint research projects, establish long-term partnerships, and collaborate on publishing articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases.
