Title of the monograph: Current understanding of the nature of chemical bonding: from ionic to metallic Authors: Kalauova A., Kuanyshbek I. Year of publication: 202.55 Place of publication / Publisher: Atyrau "ASU Press" ISBN: 978-601-262-616-2 Abstract: The structure of multi-electron atoms is described and the causes leading to changes in their physical and chemical characteristics in the Periodic Table of elements of D. I. Mendeleev are considered. On this basis, the differences and features of chemical bonding in metals, covalent and ionic crystals, complex compounds, electron-deficient compounds, and other structures are considered. Various chemical and physical processes are considered: the formation of covalent, cluster, and metallic structures, complex compounds, and acid-base properties of compounds. A new concept of the formation of metal bonds is proposed, which makes it possible to explain the causes of changes in the strength, thermal and other properties of metals without cumbersome and difficult to understand mathematical apparatus. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers - researchers, teachers of higher educational institutions, undergraduates and postgraduates, teachers of higher education, students and postgraduates of materials science specialties and physical and chemical faculties.
