In 2009, he graduated from the Master's degree program of Astrakhan State Technical University in Ichthyology. In 2012, he completed full-time postgraduate studies at the Department of Aquaculture and Aquatic Bioresources of Astrakhan State Technical University (AVB). In 2016, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences in the specialty "Aquaculture and aquatic bioresources".

Professional activity:

Professional experience of 18 years. 2008-2025 worked in the laboratory of marine fishes of KaspNIRKh.

In 2011, he joined the Laboratory of Amateur and sport fishing as a junior researcher. In 2012, he was transferred to the position of a researcher.

In 2015, Barabanov V. V. was transferred to the laboratory of semi-aquatic and riverine fish as a researcher. In 2021, he will be the head of the laboratory of semi-aquatic and riverine fish. Since February 2022, he has been the head of the Center for Resource Research of the Volga-Caspian branch of the SSC RF VNIRO Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution (KaspNIRH).
