Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University actively promotes cooperation at the regional, national, and international levels in support of Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The university collaborates with government institutions, industry partners, research centers, and international universities to implement joint academic programs, research projects, and academic mobility initiatives. Particular emphasis is placed on dual education, double-degree programs, and the exchange of best practices in innovation and sustainable development. Through strategic partnerships, the university enhances knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and international cooperation, strengthening its contribution to achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Educational Safety Lecture by NCOC at Atyrau University
    On September 26, 2024, representatives of NCOC delivered an educational lecture on safety techniques for students of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov. During the lecture, students learned about industrial safety rules, emergency response procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and key aspects of occupational safety in the oil and gas industry. Students were able to understand the importance of safety culture through practical examples and discussion of real industrial situations, improving their skills to protect themselves in professional environments. The lecture also aimed to prepare students for future internships and enhance their knowledge in the field of safety.
  • Guest Lecture by Representatives of the Atyrau Regional Department of Ecology for Students: Engaging Youth in Public Service and Fostering a Patriotic Perspective
    On February 13, 2025, representatives of the Atyrau Regional Department of Ecology conducted a guest lecture for 1st–4th year students of the programs 6B05201-Applied Ecology, 6B05202-Ecoanalytics, 6B05203-Waste Management at Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov. The lecture aimed to engage youth in public service, foster a patriotic understanding of the work of civil servants, and introduce students to principles of effective ecological management and contemporary public service tasks in the region. Special attention was paid to K. Ashimov’s ideas of cultivating conscious and honest citizens, encouraging active participation of young people in socially significant initiatives, and promoting ethical and professional standards in government agencies. Students received practical guidance on building a career in public institutions, discussed real cases of environmental regulation and monitoring, and explored opportunities to participate in volunteer and educational projects aimed at improving the ecological situation in the Atyrau region.
  • NCOC Guest Lectures for Atyrau University Students on Hydrogen Sulfide Safety and Construction
    On January 29, 2025, representatives of NCOC conducted guest lectures for 1st–4th year students of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov. The lectures focused on safety procedures when working with hydrogen sulfide in industrial settings and construction safety in the oil and gas sector. Students received practical guidance on preventing accidents, using protective equipment, assessing risks, and complying with industrial safety standards. Special attention was given to occupational safety, monitoring hazardous substances, and the coordination between engineering and construction teams to ensure safe operation of facilities. The lectures allowed students not only to deepen their theoretical knowledge but also to gain practical insight into modern approaches to industrial safety.
  • Information Seminar by NIPI “Caspiumunaygaz” JSC and Sileno LLP for Students on Polyethylene Production and Applications
    On April 18, 2025, NIPI “Caspiumunaygaz” JSC in cooperation with Sileno LLP held an informational seminar at Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov for 2nd–4th year students of the programs 6B05201-Applied Ecology, 6B05202-Ecoanalytics, 6B05203-Waste Management. The seminar aimed to inform students about the development prospects of the oil-gas-chemical industry in Kazakhstan, particularly in the Atyrau region, and career opportunities in this field. The event was held within the framework of the project “Construction of the First Integrated Geochemical Complex in the Atyrau Region. Phase Two (Polyethylene Production).” The seminar objectives included: Introducing students to the polyethylene production process and key technological aspects; Highlighting the areas of polyethylene application across different industries; Presenting the development prospects of the oil-gas-chemical industry in Kazakhstan.
  • Round Table: “Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan: Infrastructure Modernization, Caspian Protection, and Environmental Education”
    A round table was held on the topic: “Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan: Infrastructure Modernization, Caspian Protection, and Environmental Education” to discuss the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the people of Kazakhstan. Speakers included: Galina Chernova – Head of the “Globus” Center for Environmental and Legal Initiatives; Nazerke Makhmetova – Head of the Science and Monitoring Department of the “Akzhayik” State Nature Reserve; Shynar Izteleuova – Director of the “Zhaiyk-Caspian Aarhus Center,” on the importance of public opinion and environmental rights protection; Aigul Kenzhalieva – lawyer. During the round table, participants discussed infrastructure modernization, Caspian protection, and environmental education, highlighting the role of society and environmental organizations.
  • Round Table: “NCOC – Key Aspects of Industrial Processes”
    At Atyrau University, a round table titled “NCOC – Key Aspects of Industrial Processes” was held. Specialists from North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC) shared their experience and presented the main aspects of conducting industrial processes safely and efficiently. Specialists included: Sagiden Erbulekоv – Head of the “Biodiversity and Environmental Research” team; Askar Atknin – Head of the “Quality Control” team; Aset Nursеitov – Head of the “Oil Spill Preparedness and Response” team; Altay Bakirov – Safety Engineer. During the round table, topics such as environmental monitoring, industrial safety, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance were discussed. Participants demonstrated practical examples of safety and environmental responsibility in industrial operations.
  • “UI GreenMetric and Sustainable Development: Key Seminar at Atyrau University”
    UI GreenMetric and Sustainable Development: An Important Seminar at Atyrau University A seminar focusing on sustainable development and the UI GreenMetric international ranking was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The seminar aimed to implement the University’s strategic priorities in the field of sustainable development, as well as to integrate environmental policy, ESG principles, and the climate agenda into educational and research activities. During the event, Professor Gulbazar Mediyeva, Doctor of Economics and Academician of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a lecture and shared practical, experience-based insights. The expert highlighted effective ways to improve universities’ performance in international rankings. The seminar addressed key issues such as the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the green economy and ESG approaches, climate change, the transition to carbon neutrality, the ecological transformation of university campuses, and the alignment of education and research with international ranking indicators. Representatives of the Atyrau Regional Department of Ecology and the “Akzhaiyk” State Nature Reserve took part in the seminar and contributed their perspectives to the discussions. It is worth noting that the seminar was previously conducted online and concluded with an offline session on December 25–26. At the end of the event, 42 participants were awarded certificates.
