Within the framework of grant-funded projects, research by young scientists is being implemented, focusing on technological and infrastructure solutions. Particular emphasis is placed on developing sustainable, inclusive, and innovative solutions that contribute to strengthening the country’s scientific and technological potential. The University organizes seminars and training sessions on the implementation of digital and innovative technologies, as well as competitions for the best innovative solutions in building sustainable and secure IT infrastructure. Regular master classes, project activities, and professional competitions in logistics, transport, and digital transformation are held at the University. The University’s technopark supports and stimulates innovation, fosters the development of technology companies, and promotes the commercialization of research outcomes. It serves as a platform for transferring scientific developments into the real sector of the economy and building a sustainable ecosystem for startups and industrial partnerships.
  • Upgrade Professional Development Course “Gamification in Primary School Lessons within the Digital Learning Environment”

    Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is a higher education institution with extensive opportunities for organizing professional development courses. In line with modern societal demands, innovation is closely linked to lifelong learning. Therefore, from June 17 to June 28, 2024, the university conducted a free 72-hour Upgrade professional development course for primary school teachers titled “Gamification in Primary School Lessons within the Digital Learning Environment.” The course was intended for university graduates of 1989, 1996, 1997, and subsequent years, including part-time graduates. The name “Upgrade” signifies the renewal of professional knowledge and focuses on enhancing competencies in accordance with modern requirements. During the course, participants improved their digital literacy and learned effective ways to use digital educational resources. They also developed skills in applying gamification methods in primary school subjects. The course was organized by the Office of Retraining and Professional Development. Training was delivered by senior lecturers, PhD holders, and master’s degree specialists from the Departments of Software Engineering and Preschool and Primary Education. The course achieved its objectives and provided participants with renewed professional motivation.

  • Regional “AI Hackathon - 2026” Launched in Atyrau

    A regional hackathon bringing together talented young people in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence has started at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.

    The competition, taking place on April 24-25, brings together 24 teams consisting of school pupils, college students, and university students from the Atyrau Region. Over the course of two days, participants will implement innovative ideas based on artificial intelligence and develop practical solutions and prototypes.

    The main feature of this year’s competition is the strong focus on AI technologies. Participants are competing in the following categories:

    * Mobile & Web Development - useful mobile applications and web services;

    * AI Models - intelligent algorithms and smart systems;

    * Cybersecurity - innovative information security solutions.

    According to the competition results, the authors of the best projects will receive special certificates from the university rector:

    * 🥇 1st place - 100% tuition fee discount;

    * 🥈 2nd place - 50% tuition fee discount;

    * 🥉 3rd place - 30% tuition fee discount.

    “Hackathon is not just a competition; it is an open communication platform that brings together future engineers and IT specialists. Our goal is to identify talented young people who master the language of artificial intelligence and will contribute to the country’s economy in the future,” the organizers noted.

    During the evaluation process, the jury will pay particular attention to:

    * the effective use of AI technologies,

    * the originality and technical quality of the solutions,

    * the practical relevance and development potential of the ideas.

    At the end of the hackathon, all participants will receive special certificates, and detailed information about the event and its results will be published on the university’s official social media platforms.

  • Research and Innovations in Polypropylene-Based Composite Materials

    As part of Science Week, a scientific seminar titled “Research and Innovations in Polypropylene-Based Composite Materials” was organized by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The event was held via the Zoom platform.

    The seminar became an important platform combining science and innovation, bringing together industry specialists and young researchers.

    During the seminar:

    🔹 modern scientific research and innovative approaches were discussed;

    🔹 development prospects for polymers and composite materials were analyzed;

    🔹 young scientists and experienced specialists exchanged views and ideas.

    The program covered:

    🔸 rheological properties of polypropylene;

    🔸 methods for forming polymer fiber materials;

    🔸 stabilization mechanisms using vitamin E;

    🔸 principles of green chemistry.

    In addition, participants discussed the application of STEM approaches and the use of digital technologies for modeling the structure and properties of polymers.

    The seminar served as an important platform for exchanging experience, developing new scientific ideas, and expanding research directions. A step toward science is a step toward a brighter future!

  • AI in Healthcare: Among the World’s Top Teams!

    From March 27 to 29, the final of the international hackathon “AI in Healthcare” was held in Tashkent as part of CAU Tech Summit 2026.

    More than 1,200 students and over 300 teams from 17 countries participated in the selection stage, including leading universities such as the University of California, Berkeley (USA), Ulsan National Institute (South Korea), and institutions from Japan and other countries.

    Only 54 strongest teams advanced to the final.

    The team of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, under the scientific supervision of Asylbek Serikulу Gizatov, scored 53.66 points and ranked 18th, outperforming teams from Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Indonesia.

    The team included students of the Software Engineering Department:

    Galymzhan Amangeldi, Bektas Zhaksylyk, Mirzhan Faizullayev, Dastan Batyrkhan.

    18th place among 54 finalists selected from 300+ teams across 17 countries is a result to be truly proud of.

  • DIGITAL QAZAQSTAN 2026 |Shymkent

    The international forum Digital Qazaqstan 2026, held in Shymkent from March 26 to 28, 2026, became a significant platform for the country's digital development. The forum provided an opportunity to discuss current issues in technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence. The new format of the event covered all regions of Kazakhstan and stood out as a unique national platform aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience, as well as generating new ideas and opportunities.

    Faculty members and students of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Information Technologies at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University participated in the forum, where they explored the latest developments in the IT sector, innovative solutions, and emerging technological trends.

    The forum focused on enhancing digital literacy, supporting talented youth, promoting GovTech and digital public administration, fostering startups and innovation, and supporting small, medium-sized, and technology-driven businesses. Such large-scale events create new opportunities for young people, encourage professional growth, and provide a strong impetus for strengthening the digital future of our country.

  • Memorandum Signed with the National Center for Geodesy and Spatial Information

    A signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Cooperation was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University with the National Center for Geodesy and Spatial Information, operating under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    Within the framework of the memorandum, plans include improving educational programs, organizing students’ internships at real enterprises, introducing elements of dual education, and implementing joint research projects.

    The memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov, and on behalf of the partner organization by Yerkebulan Tursynbayev, Regional Director for Western Kazakhstan of the Republican State Enterprise National Center for Geodesy and Spatial Information.

    This partnership will provide broad opportunities for students’ professional development and contribute to training in-demand specialists for the labor market. In addition, it is planned to hold seminars and trainings with the participation of industry specialists.
