A scientific and practical seminar titled “Tauman Amandosov: A Man of Great Stature”, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the prominent scholar of Kazakh journalism, distinguished educator, and public figure Tauman Salykbaiuly Amandosov, was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The scientific event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Salimgerei Bolatkaliuly, and the Head of the Department of Journalism and Public Relations, Omirbek Kadyrkhanuly. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of promoting the scholar’s legacy. They highlighted Tauman Amandosov’s significant contribution to the development of journalism studies in Kazakhstan and noted that his scientific and creative path serves as an exemplary model for today’s young journalists.
The purpose of the event was to promote the life and rich heritage of one of the founders of the theoretical foundations of Kazakh journalism, present his scholarly works to the younger generation as an example, and define his place in the history of national journalism.
During the seminar, a special video dedicated to the life and work of Tauman Amandosov was presented. The participants were also introduced to his scientific contributions to the history of Kazakh journalism, press genres, and the theory of publicistic writing.
Special guests attended the event and shared their reflections on the scholar’s personality and legacy. Among them were Honored Journalist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and cultural figure Isatai Kundyzbaiuly Balmagambetov; cultural figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recipient of the “Til Zhanashyry” badge Abilkhan Seitimuly Toleuishov; university alumnus, philologist, and director of the “Atyrau Rauan” Foundation Adi Zholamanuly. In their speeches, they spoke about Tauman Amandosov’s important role in Kazakh spirituality and journalism studies.
In addition, the scholar’s students, senior lecturers of Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Lazzat Kabdirkyzy and Gulnar Bazarbaikyzy, shared their memories of their teacher and emphasized his unique personality and dedication to educating future generations.
As part of the event, the director of the secondary school named after Tauman Amandosov, Maira Serikkalikyzy Raziyeva, delivered a speech and presented the work being carried out at the school to promote the scholar’s legacy.
During the second part of the event, the best video projects prepared by students and schoolchildren were screened. The seminar concluded with an award ceremony for the winners of the essay and video competitions.

At the end of the scientific and practical seminar, the organizers emphasized that the life and work of Tauman Amandosov remain a guiding star of national journalism studies and an everlasting example for future generations.
