A seminar titled “Algorithms for Publishing Articles on Wikipedia” was held in Shymkent, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
At the opening of the seminar, Kairzhan Aldashuly Rakhymzhanov, Head of the Department of the Language Policy Committee of the Ministry, emphasized the importance of enriching high-quality Kazakh-language content and highlighted the relevance of this work.
More than 80 professors and lecturers from 8 universities in Shymkent participated in the event and exchanged experience.
During the seminar, senior lecturer and postdoctoral researcher Akmaral Kaliyarbekkyzy Dautkulova provided participants with comprehensive information on registering on the Wikipedia platform, selecting appropriate topics for encyclopedic articles, and preparing high-quality content.
Additionally, active Wikipedia contributor Muzaffar Turgunov shared his experience, explaining Wikipedia rules and the differences between scientific and encyclopedic articles.
Participants emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at developing the Kazakh-language information space, including enriching Wikipedia content. Thanks to such efforts, thousands of readers now have access to reliable and high-quality information.
At the end of the seminar, participants expressed their gratitude to the speakers and their intention to actively contribute to the Wikipedia project in the future. Such initiatives play an important role in promoting national values and expanding educational horizons in the digital era.
