“Time and the Writer”: Guest Lecture with Poet Marzhan Ershu

Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted a guest lecture with poet and Candidate of Philological Sciences Marzhan Ershu titled “Time and the Writer”.

 

A master of the national language and literature, the poet has developed her creative work across poetry, drama, prose, translation, and satire. Her collections, including Dariga Gumyr, Zhyr-Zhurek, Tangy Shyk, Olke, Zhapyrak Gumyr, Konyr, Shyrak, and Pyrak, are well known among Atyrau youth.

 

In the first part of the lecture, the poet shared insights into her creative journey and literary research. In the second part, she read her poems and discussed their origins. Students engaged actively, asking questions and exchanging ideas with the poet. Some students recited her poems from memory, creating a memorable and spiritually enriching session.

 

The event concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation and a bouquet of flowers to Marzhan Ershu on behalf of the University’s Chairperson-Rector, Salamat Idrissov.
