Environmental Event Held within the “Clean Kazakhstan” Initiative

An environmental event in a project presentation format titled “Zero-Waste Lifestyle” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University within the framework of the national environmental initiative “Clean Kazakhstan.”

The event was organized by the Department of Ecology, third-year students of the “Applied Ecology” educational program, and curator S. Amanzholkyzy.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by A.E. Tlepbergenova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Head of the Department of Ecology. She introduced innovative environmental research projects focused on waste recycling, including the production of sulfur concrete from sulfur waste, phyto-leather from fruit waste, paving blocks from cigarette waste, and various products made from recycled glass.

The primary goal of the project defense format was to foster environmental culture among youth, raise awareness about reducing household waste, and emphasize the importance of efficient resource use.

Participants highlighted that waste has become a global environmental issue and proposed practical solutions based on the 5R principles (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot). They also presented waste-sorting systems, statistical data, and international best practices.

The event became a meaningful step toward supporting the “Clean Kazakhstan” initiative and strengthening environmental responsibility.
