Meeting with Youth Held on the Topic “Legal Culture as the Foundation of Society”
Within the framework of the “Law and Order” project, a meaningful and timely meeting with youth titled “Legal Culture as the Foundation of Society” was organized at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The main objective of the event was to foster students’ legal culture, draw attention to risks in the online environment, and explain ways to prevent cybercrime.
The meeting was jointly organized by Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and the Atyrau Region Police Department. As a guest speaker, Dauren Maksimovich Mukhanbetaliyev, Operational Officer of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department of the Atyrau Region Police Department and Police Captain, took part and engaged in an open and substantive discussion with students.
More than 50 first-year students from the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies, representing the Mathematics (IP) and Applied Mathematics programs of the Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching, attended the meeting. The session was effectively moderated by Madina Muratkyzy Yerkinova, a member of the “Erkindik Ruhy” Youth Commission under the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Master Lecturer, and curator of first-year Mathematics (IP) students. In her remarks, she encouraged students to enhance legal literacy, practice responsible digital behavior, and demonstrate civic engagement, facilitating an open dialogue between the speaker and participants.
During the event, the types and consequences of cyberbullying, legal liability for online offenses, and mechanisms for preventing cybercrime were explained in detail. Students’ questions highlighted the relevance of the topic and contributed to an active exchange of views.
In addition, students expressed their readiness to participate as volunteers in future preventive initiatives aimed at combating cybercrime - an important indicator of the growing legal awareness and civic responsibility among youth.
Overall, the meeting was aimed at cultivating respect for the law among students, developing safe behavior skills in the digital environment, and strengthening legal culture in society.
