“Fruitful Work, Glorious Milestones and a Confident Future”

A solemn ceremony titled “Fruitful Work, Glorious Milestones and a Confident Future” dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University took place at the Makhambet Regional Drama Theatre.

The event began with the screening of a documentary film highlighting the rich history and development of Atyrau University, which traces its origins back to 1940.

During the ceremony, Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region, Daryn Shamuratov, presented a congratulatory letter on behalf of Akim of Atyrau Region, Serik Shapkenov, and extended heartfelt congratulations to the university’s faculty and staff on this remarkable milestone. In his address, he emphasized the university’s significant achievements and its invaluable contribution to the development of education and science in the region.

Outstanding professors and scholars who made notable contributions to the university’s progress were honored with awards, including the Honorary Diploma of Atyrau Region, Letters of Appreciation from the Akim of Atyrau Region, and distinctions from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as the “Veteran of Labor”, “Akhmet Baitursynuly”, “For Contribution to the Development of Science”, and “For Contribution to the Development of the State Language” medals, as well as the “Excellence in Science” honorary diploma, “Excellence in Higher and Postgraduate Education” badge, and other commendations.

The university was congratulated by Merke Kulkenov, Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan; Yerezhep Mambetkazyiev, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, public and state figure, former Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1993-1995), who played a key role in granting the university its official status and in naming it after Kh. Dosmukhamedov; Murat Uteshov, Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans and Honored Citizen of Atyrau Region; A.N. Nevalenny, President of the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian States; Beibit Mamrayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and Deputy Chairman of the national anti-corruption movement “Zhanaru”, along with representatives of several Kazakhstani universities.

The celebration concluded with a festive concert featuring performances by Aigul Ulkenbayeva, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan and renowned dombyra virtuoso, together with students of the university’s Department of Music and Art.
