A Meeting with the Descendants of the Alash Figure R. Karzhaubayev Was Held

At the Abish Kekilbayev Research Center of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a profound meeting took place. The event was dedicated to a meeting with Dana Rakhmetollakyzy, the descendant of Rakhmetolla Karzhaubayev, a prominent figure of the Alash movement in the early 20th century, an officer of the Western Alashorda government, educator, and statesman.

Rakhmetolla Karzhaubayev was born in the Kyzylkoga region of Atyrau Province. Since 1917, he actively participated in the Alash movement, serving alongside Zhansha and Khalel Dosmukhamedov in the Western Alashorda government. As a military officer, he fought for the political freedom of the country and later held responsible positions in the People's Commissariat for Education of the Kazakh Republic.

A victim of Soviet repression, he was sentenced to ten years in 1934 and endured harsh exile in the Komi region. Despite this, he never lost his spiritual strength and maintained his faith in his nation, language, and culture.

During the meeting, Dana Rakhmetollakyzy shared new information and valuable memories about her father. "My father used to say, “One day there will be generations that will seek us and our deeds.” Today, I see that his words have come true," Dana Rakhmetollakyzy stated.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the field of history, scholars, researchers, and descendants of the Alash figure.
