University Alumni Reunite After 45 Years

Graduates of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University (formerly the Guryev Pedagogical Institute), who studied in the specialty “Physics” from 1976 to 1980, held a 45-year anniversary reunion.

The reunion brought together 16 graduates of the class of 1980, the rector of Atyrau University Salamat Idrissov, and the faculty of the Department of Physics and Information Technologies.

The event was organized by Yergali Zhaksylykov, a long-time school principal of “Karakiya” secondary school in the Karakiya district of Mangystau region, and currently the director of the public foundation “Shagyrai.”

During the reunion, alumni reminisced about their student years and shared historical moments from their time at the university.

Gulnar Baimukhanova, a university graduate, recipient of the Y. Altynsarin badge of honor, and laureate of national competitions and festivals, presented the university with her authored textbooks and a collection of physics test materials.

The event concluded with a group photo and a tour of the university’s modern campus life.
