Students Compete in Regional Olympiad Aimed at Enhancing Financial Literacy

A regional Olympiad titled “Enhancing Youth Financial Literacy – A Key Factor for Future Well-being” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University as part of the university’s 85th anniversary celebrations and within the framework of the “Law and Order” initiative.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Economic Investigations of the Atyrau Region under the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Atyrau University.
The Olympiad aimed to develop knowledge and skills that contribute to ensuring the future well-being of the younger generation by improving their financial literacy. The competition brought together 11th-grade students from general education schools across Atyrau Region and the city of Atyrau.
The jury included prominent specialists such as Bekbolat Anesov, Head of the Organizational and Control Division of the Department of Economic Investigations for Atyrau Region; Ardak Orynbayeva, Methodologist of the Atyrau Regional Education Department’s Methodological Center; Nurzhan Kumargaliyev, Head of the Atyrau Regional Department of the Bureau of National Statistics; Amangeldy Unaganov, Deputy Director for Corporate Operational Services at ForteBank JSC Atyrau Branch; and Aikorkem Zholdas, Member of the Atyrau Regional Youth Maslikhat and Regional Head of the UN-funded “Future Without Drugs” Public Foundation.
During the Olympiad, students demonstrated their knowledge of financial literacy and presented projects they had specially prepared. The competition was conducted in two stages: a theoretical test through a questionnaire in the first stage and project presentations in the second stage.

Winners and authors of the best projects were awarded certificates and letters of appreciation:

• 1st Place – Nurai Nasipkali (Student of School-Gymnasium No. 3, Atyrau) received a 100% tuition scholarship for the “Finance and Analytics” program (6B04105) at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University;

• 2nd Place – Damir Zakariya (Student of Kanysh Satpayev School-Gymnasium) received a 50% tuition scholarship for the same program;

• 3rd Place – Shynaray Baiymbetova (Student of School No. 27 named after I. Taimanov) received a 30% tuition scholarship for the same program.
In addition, participants Madina Temirbolatova, Damira Zhanibekkyzy, Shynaray Baiymbetova, Damir Zakariya, and Nurai Nasipkali received special incentive prizes from the Department of Economic Investigations for their active participation.
