Atyrau University Faculty Members Participate in the “Treasured Caspian” International Fish Festival

On June 17, 2026, the city of Atyrau hosted the “Treasured Caspian” International Fish Festival, bringing together representatives of the Caspian littoral states, members of the scientific community, fisheries enterprises, and educational institutions.

Faculty members and staff of Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, who are actively engaged in research in the fields of fisheries, aquaculture, and the conservation of aquatic biological resources, took an active part in the event.

As part of the festival, the international forum “Caspian Partnership: Sustainable Development of Fisheries and Aquaculture” was held. The forum focused on key issues related to the development of the fisheries sector, the implementation of modern technologies, and the strengthening of international cooperation. Participants also visited exhibitions showcasing fish products and seafood cuisine, as well as fisheries enterprises operating in the Atyrau Region.

Among the speakers at the forum were representatives of Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU), a long-standing partner of Atyrau University. The two universities have established productive cooperation in the training of fisheries specialists, the implementation of joint research projects, academic exchange programmes, and educational initiatives.

The participation of ASTU representatives in the festival contributed to further strengthening the partnership between the institutions and provided an opportunity to discuss new avenues of cooperation aimed at advancing fisheries, aquaculture, and scientific and educational collaboration across the Caspian region.
