Heydar Aliyev International Scholarship Awarded at Atyrau University!

A solemn ceremony was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University to award the Heydar Aliyev International Scholarship, named after the national leader and prominent statesman of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.

The event was attended by the university’s faculty members, students, as well as special guests: Head of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ayhan Firudinoglu Suleymanli and Consul Mubariz Osmanoglu Jafarov, along with Eldar Akhmedov, Chairman of the “Novruz” Azerbaijani National-Cultural Center in Atyrau.

For 13 consecutive years, this scholarship has served as a tangible symbol of educational and cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. It not only provides financial support to students but also enhances their international recognition.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov, and Consul General Ayhan Suleymanli delivered congratulatory remarks, highlighting the importance of academic collaboration and the enduring friendship between the two nations.
“This scholarship, awarded on the occasion of the birthday of the national leader and first President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, has become a symbol of the brotherhood between the Azerbaijani and Kazakh peoples. For over a decade, this award has been traditionally granted to the most outstanding and active students of Atyrau University. To date, more than 60 students have received this recognition. It stands as a clear testament to the close ties between our countries in the fields of education and culture,” said Rector Salamat Idrissov.

The audience also viewed a documentary video about the life and legacy of Heydar Aliyev, learning about his significant role in the Turkic world and on the international stage.

As part of the ceremony, five top students from Atyrau University were awarded the Heydar Aliyev International Scholarship:
    •    Diana Mukasheva – Faculty of Humanities and Arts
    •    Arsen Kazaliyev – Faculty of Natural Sciences
    •    Aizada Sabidullina – Faculty of Economics and Law
    •    Aigerim Aibusynova – Faculty of Multilingual Education
    •    Tomiris Daniyar – Faculty of Innovative Education

On behalf of the scholarship recipients, Aigerim Aibusynova delivered a speech expressing gratitude to the Azerbaijani Consulate and the university leadership for their support.

Additionally, during the event, Atyrau University presented a Letter of Appreciation to Ayhan Suleymanli. By the decision of the Academic Council, Eldar Akhmedov, Chairman of the “Novruz” Azerbaijani National-Cultural Center and member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, was awarded the honorary title of Honorary Professor of Atyrau University.

At the end of the event, participants engaged in open dialogue and took commemorative photographs.
