A poetry evening titled “Lailidei ystyksyn, Mazhnundei kumartsam…” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The aim of the event was to promote poetry among young people, popularize literary heritage on the theme of love, enhance students’ creative abilities, and foster interest in the art of poetic expression.
The special guest of the event was poet, scholar, and international “Alash” Prize laureate Marzhan Yershu. Her creativity was presented, and her poems on the theme of love were performed.
During the evening, participants recited poetry about love, leaving a strong impression on the audience. Singers from the N. Zhanturin Regional Philharmonic performed, and the song “Zhapyrak Zhurek” (Leaf Heart), written to the lyrics of Marzhan Amankoskyzy, was performed by Honored Cultural Worker Venera Mashkaliyeva.
During the event, Marzhan Yershu was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University by decision of the Academic Council.
Additionally, actors from the Atyrau Youth Theatre staged the performance “Bez kyz turaly hikaya” (The Story of a Girl with a Birthmark) , artistically conveying the meaning and role of love in human life.
Students also presented their own creative works, demonstrating their passion for poetry.
The evening concluded with a Q&A session with the poet. The event ended with the song “Atyrau Arman”, based on Marzhan Yershu’s lyrics. The inspiring evening, where poetry and art intertwined, left a lasting spiritual impression on the students.
