Enactus Kazakhstan: Atyrau University Team Among the Best

The team from Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University ranked among the top 12 teams out of 26 participating universities at the Enactus Kazakhstan National Expo 2025, held on April 29–30 at the Palace of Independence in Astana. The team successfully presented their project at the semifinal stage with a high level of professionalism.

Enactus Kazakhstan is the country’s largest platform supporting youth entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and social initiatives. This year, the competition received over 230 applications from 20 regions, with 189 teams advancing to the national stage.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev, Chairman of the Presidium of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and Chairman of the Enactus Kazakhstan Board of Directors Raiymbek Batalov, as well as President of Enactus Kazakhstan Albina Yerzhanova. The speakers emphasized the importance of unlocking the entrepreneurial potential of youth.

The Atyrau University team presented their ecological project “PhytoLeather” as part of the Enactus Kazakhstan program.

PhytoLeather is the first biodegradable leather in Kazakhstan made from food and plant waste. The project aims to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote environmentally responsible production by transforming waste into a valuable resource.

In recognition of the project’s innovation and significance, as well as the team’s professionalism, the relevance of the idea, and the quality of the presentation, the Atyrau University team was awarded the Enactus Cup and a certificate.
