“Elin Korgau - Erge Sert”

At Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a ceremonial event titled “Elin Korgau - Erge Sert” (To Defend the Homeland Is a Warrior’s Oath) was held under the slogan “The Great Victory: Honoring Heroism – Inspiring Youth” in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Defender of the Fatherland Day on May 7.

The event aimed to instill a sense of patriotism in the younger generation, pay tribute to acts of heroism, and emphasize the importance of defending the nation. It brought together university leadership, veterans of the Armed Forces, staff of the military department, and students.

In his welcoming remarks, Chairman of the Board Salamat Idrissov stated:

“Welcome to this event dedicated to May 7 – Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory on May 9! The Military Department of Atyrau University is one of the key centers for training military specialists in the western region. We are committed to ensuring that our students graduate not only as skilled professionals but also as devoted citizens ready to serve and defend our homeland. May our youth always live under a peaceful sky!”

During the event, various elements of military training were demonstrated, including combat techniques, weapon handling practices, hand-to-hand combat, and defense protocols against weapons of mass destruction. In addition, military platoons marched in formation while performing the patriotic song “Men Kazakpyn”.

As part of the celebration, university leadership presented letters of appreciation to instructor-officers of the military department and veterans of the Armed Forces. The event concluded with the ceremonial raising of the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a commemorative group photo.
