A Series of Lectures Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory Has Begun

At Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a series of lectures dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory has officially commenced. The opening lecture was delivered by historian, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and Associate Professor Shakhman Nagimov, who focused on the heroic deeds of Kazakh warriors during the Great Patriotic War.
These lectures aim to deepen students’ understanding of the historical significance of World War II, promote the heroic stories of Kazakh soldiers, and foster patriotism and respect for historical memory among the younger generation.
During the lecture, Professor Nagimov spoke about the sudden attack by Nazi Germany on the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, with Brest being the first city struck - defended by many Kazakh soldiers. He highlighted the fearless heroism of Kazakh soldiers in the 316th Rifle Division, commanded by General I.V. Panfilov.
Particular attention was given to the legendary bravery of national heroes such as Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Talgat Bigeldinov, and Malik Gabdullin. The lecture also included a discussion of Alexander Bek’s work “Volokolamsk Highway”, which portrays the heroic image and moral character of Guard Colonel Bauyrzhan Momyshuly.
This lecture series will continue at the university and is aimed at helping students gain a deeper understanding of the historical importance of the Great Victory.
