“Eco-Alem” Club: The Gas-Chemical Complex Must Preserve the Environment!

Members of the “Eco-Alem” ecological club, established at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, met with representatives of the integrated gas-chemical complex being constructed in the region to discuss environmental concerns.
This meeting was organized within the framework of obtaining an environmental impact permit and aligns with the goals of the national “Clean Kazakhstan” campaign initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the meeting, active members of the “Eco-Alem” club raised important questions regarding the project’s environmental impact. The young environmentalists paid particular attention to the ecological safety of production processes, waste management, and the potential effects on the surrounding environment.
Students were provided with comprehensive information about the technological solutions of the project, its economic benefits, and employment opportunities expected to be created in the future. Nurzhan Nurmukhanov, Chief Environmental Engineer of “Silleno” LLP, along with Environmental Engineer Eldar Akhmetov and representatives of the HR department, gave detailed explanations about the production process and the involvement of local specialists.
In the concluding Q&A session, students raised important topics such as ecology, employment prospects, and the future of the gas-chemical industry in Kazakhstan.
