“Maslenitsa” – a fusion of tradition and friendship
Maslenitsa was celebrated at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
Members of the “Bylina” ethnocultural association of Atyrau, students of School-Gymnasium No. 34 in Atyrau, as well as professors, teachers, and students participated in the festive event.
Maslenitsa is a holiday dedicated to bidding farewell to winter and welcoming spring. This celebration is not only a tradition of the Russian people but also a symbol of unity for the entire population of Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the event, organized by the Department of Russian Philology, was to introduce students to the traditions and holidays of the Russian people, develop their communication skills, and strengthen cooperation between the university and other educational institutions.
The Dean of the Faculty of Multilingual Education, Meruyert Amangaziyeva, congratulated the participants on the Maslenitsa holiday and officially opened the event.
At a venue decorated with traditional attributes, a theatrical performance titled “Meeting with Maslenitsa” was presented, and students performed traditional Russian dances. Members of the “Bylina” ethnocultural association of Atyrau performed Russian songs and dances, showcasing national traditions, while students from School-Gymnasium No. 34 in Atyrau danced the “Kalinka” and sang along with the participants.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the musical performances by students from various specialties, as well as entertaining games. The audience enjoyed the songs “Sinyaya Vechnost”and “Pesenka o Medvedyakh”, and Atyrau University student Danagul Zhumaliyeva impressed everyone with her performance of “Krylatye Kacheli”, accompanied by the cello. Students of the Music Education program added to the festive atmosphere with a unique musical composition that blended elements of retro, medley, and musicals.
At the end of the event, participants tasted the main symbol of the holiday - delicious pancakes and took commemorative photos.
