Union of Turkic-Speaking Universities

The main mission of the Union is to form a unified academic space among Turkic-speaking states. The Union includes leading universities from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.

Key Areas of Activity:

development of academic cooperation among member universities;

improvement of the quality of higher education;

expansion of academic mobility opportunities;

implementation of joint scientific and educational projects;

strengthening intercultural and professional ties among countries.

Within the framework of the Union, the academic mobility program “Orkhun” is being implemented. The program aims to expand educational and scientific interaction among member universities.

Recently, a double-degree program was launched in cooperation with Lankaran State University, marking an important step in deepening institutional collaboration.

Objectives of the Program:

providing students, master’s students, and faculty members with opportunities for internships and academic exchanges;

developing joint educational initiatives;

expanding participants’ professional and scientific competencies;

strengthening ties among Turkic-speaking countries.

The specialty “Foreign Language” has received particular development within the program, contributing to enhanced linguistic and intercultural training.

Since the beginning of the “Orkhun” program, the total number of participants has reached 130, including:

outgoing faculty members — 53;

incoming faculty members — 17;

outgoing students — 41;

incoming students — 19.

The “Orkhun” program has contributed to:

strengthening intercultural interaction;

improving the professional training of participants;

developing joint scientific research and educational projects;

forming sustainable academic ties among universities of Turkic-speaking countries.

The Union of Turkic Universities serves as an effective platform for integrating educational systems and promoting scientific cooperation within the Turkic world.
