Greening and Waste Recycling
Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University actively implements the principles of sustainable development, paying special attention to fostering environmental awareness among students and staff, as well as creating a clean and environmentally friendly campus environment.
The university implements comprehensive environmental initiatives aimed at developing environmental culture, expanding green infrastructure, and introducing systems for the rational use of natural resources.
One of the key directions of the university’s environmental policy is campus greening. As part of environmental campaigns and the national initiative Taza Qazaqstan, students and faculty regularly participate in tree planting, environmental clean-up activities, and campus landscaping projects. These initiatives aim to improve environmental conditions, increase biodiversity, and foster responsible attitudes toward nature among young people.
An important part of the university’s activities is the waste management and recycling system. The campus has introduced waste sorting practices, recycling of various types of waste, and measures to reduce their negative impact on the environment. In addition, the university develops educational programs and scientific research related to ecology, waste recycling, and sustainable development.
Students actively participate in innovative waste recycling projects. These include the creation of epoxy resin products using recycled glass, research and development of sulfur composite materials, and the production of bricks from recycled cigarette waste for construction purposes. These projects demonstrate the practical application of scientific knowledge and are aimed at finding environmentally safe solutions for the region.
Thus, the university’s environmental initiatives are aimed not only at improving the state of the environment but also at developing students’ professional competencies in sustainable development and environmental responsibility. The implementation of greening and waste recycling projects contributes to the development of environmental culture and strengthens the university’s role in solving regional environmental issues.
