  • Boarding School for Gifted Children “Ustaz”

Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is implementing the project of the boarding school for gifted children “Ustaz” for 2021–2026. The main goal of the school, opened in the 2021–2022 academic year, is true literacy — understanding life, deep mastery of the chosen profession, and the formation of individuals capable of responding to modern life challenges.

From 2021 to 2025, the school covered 250 students from seven districts of the Atyrau region. The main contingent consisted of orphans, children from single-parent families, and children from families in difficult social conditions. Among the districts, the largest number of students (40 people) comes from the Makhambet district.

As part of career guidance work, a memorandum was signed between the rector of the university and district akims with the participation of representatives of administrations, departments of education, and departments of social welfare of the Isatay, Inder, and Kyzylkoga districts.

Atyrau University demonstrates real care for rural youth. The school, intended for boys, enrolls only children from rural areas. Accommodation in the dormitory, five meals a day, and preparation courses for the Unified National Testing (UNT) are provided completely free of charge.

According to a comparative analysis, graduates of the “Ustaz” school not only show excellent results in universities but also study abroad through academic mobility programs.

The school operates on the basis of agreements with the board of trustees, social partners, public organizations, and creative centers. In the 2022–2023 academic year, with the support of social partners, the school’s medical office was fully equipped.

In accordance with the principles of the United Nations, such tasks as “Zero Hunger,” “No Poverty,” “Clean Water,” and “Access to Free Education” are addressed. Students are provided with five meals a day, filtered drinking water, and free preparation for the Unified National Testing.

Starting from the 2026–2027 academic year, changes to the admission rules are planned, giving priority to young men from rural districts and socially vulnerable families who choose the teaching profession.
