Biography

Ismurzina Gulnar Bazarbaikyzy is a Master of Humanities and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Public Relations. She was born on February 18, 1965, in West Kazakhstan Region and is a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 1985 to 1990, she studied at the Faculty of Journalism of S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University, where she received the qualifications of journalist, educator, and philologist. She began her professional career in 1990 at the Atyrau Regional Television and Radio Committee as a TV journalist and editor. From 1992 to 2005, she worked as a teacher of Kazakh language and literature at Kh. Naubetov Secondary School. In the following years, she served as a language specialist, district newspaper correspondent, methodologist in the district education department, and freelance journalist. In 2012–2013, she worked as press secretary and lecturer in Kazakh language and literature at K. Dutbayeva Humanitarian College. Between 2013 and 2017, she worked at the Atyrau Regional branch of the “Orleu” National Center for Professional Development, where she served as Senior Lecturer and Chief Specialist. Since 2017, she has been working at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. Over the years, she has held the positions of Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Deputy Dean for Research, and advisor. Since 2023, she has been serving as Senior Lecturer. Her academic interests focus on journalism and philology. She is a member of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Courses taught include: Introduction to Journalism, Creative Skills of a Journalist, Digital Photojournalism, Sports Journalism, and Scriptwriting. She has completed research internships and professional development programs at leading educational institutions, including Kalmyk State University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and other training platforms in media studies, PR, media literacy, inclusive education, academic writing, and journalism in the digital era.
