Biography
Bekezhan Omirbek Kadyrkhanuly is a Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Journalism and Public Relations at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
In 1985–1990, he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Economics of Belarusian State University with a degree in Philosophy, receiving the qualification of “Philosopher, Lecturer in Philosophy.”
His professional career is closely connected with the development of social sciences and humanities education. Over the years, he worked as a lecturer and associate professor at the Department of Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology, and headed several departments in this field (2003–2017). In 2018, he served as Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers in Atyrau region (“Orleu” National Center). From 2021 to 2023, he was a professor at the Department of Kazakhstan and World History. Currently, he heads the Department of Journalism and Public Relations.
He teaches courses in Philosophy and History and Philosophy of Science. His research interests include social philosophy, philosophy of technology, and social mythology.
He has led and participated in research projects, including:
– a grant-funded project on labor migration and national security in Kazakhstan (2008–2009);
– a project on “Sites of Memory” in contemporary Kazakh culture (2018–2019).
He has completed professional development and academic internships at leading institutions, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

He has been awarded state and departmental honors, including the “Yeren Enbegi Ushin” medal, the badge “For Contribution to the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” and the H. Dosmukhamedov Gold Medal. He is also the Chairman of the Western Kazakhstan branch of the Kazakhstan Philosophical Congress.
