The Department of Mathematical Analysis traces its history back to 1956, when it began operating under the name “Department of Mathematics.” The first head of the department was Senior Lecturer M. N. Salamatin. Due to the increase in the number of students (with the opening of full-time and part-time study programs), the Department of Mathematics was divided into two independent units, one of which became the Department of Mathematical Analysis.

In different years, the department was headed by:
Professor K. Kammatov (1971–1976),
  Professor G. Dairov (1976–1986),
I. Tazhimuratov,
R. Shakibaliev (1986–2003)and G. Turzhigitova (2003–2011).

In 1994, the Department of Algebra and Geometry was established. At different times, the department was headed by:
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor B. Kenzhegulov (1994–2000),
Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor G. K. Shambilova (2000–2001),
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences K. Uteuliyeva (2001–2011).

In 2011, by the order of the university, the Department of Mathematical Analysis and the Department of Algebra and Geometry were merged and reorganized into the Department of Mathematics and Methods of Teaching Mathematics.

In subsequent years, the department was headed by Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor N. K. Shazhdekeeva, PhD S. G. Karakenova, and PhD A. G. Taishiyeva.

Since the 2024–2025 academic year, the department has been headed by Master of Science, Senior Lecturer Z. Zh. Zhanuzakova.Конец формы
