Military Department

The Military Department of Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University was established on the basis of the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 344 dated June 10, 2016.

The first head of the Military Department was Colonel Kuandyk Amangeldievich Berdygaliyev. Later, the position of head of the department was held by Lieutenant Colonel of Justice in the Reserve Serik Akirovich Absamatov.
Currently, the head of the Military Department is Colonel of the Reserve Ruslan Zhalgasovich Naurzbekov.

Military training of students under the programs for reserve officers and reserve sergeants is carried out in military occupational specialties on the basis of higher professional education in order to form the military reserve of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to provide additional staffing for primary officer and sergeant positions in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Military Department conducts training in the following areas:
    •    Combat employment of general military units, subunits and formations
    •    Organization of troop service and application of units ensuring security and law and order
    •    Planning and organization of territorial defense
    •    Riflemen

At the Military Department of the university, students of Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, as well as students of Atyrau Oil and Gas University named after Safi Utebayev, are trained as military specialists under the above programs.
Every year more than 200 graduates complete their training and serve in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, contributing to strengthening the country’s defense capability in accordance with their military specialty.

The Military Department is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building at 1B Azattyk Avenue.
