Procedure for Admission and Selection of Students to the Military Department

Students wishing to participate in the competition for admission to the Military Department must submit an application through the e-government web portal (www.egov.kz) starting from February 1 of the year of admission.

List of required documents
    1.    Application for admission
    2.    Identity document or an electronic document from the digital documents service (for identification)
    3.    Four photographs sized 3×4 cm
    4.    Certificate confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record
    5.    Certificate confirming current enrollment at a higher education institution indicating the faculty and specialty

Applications are accepted until September 30 of the year of admission.

The selection process for admission to the Military Department consists of four stages:

Stage 1 – medical examination in accordance with the Rules for Conducting Military Medical Examinations and the Regulations on Military Medical Commissions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Stage 2 – professional psychological testing.

Stage 3 – physical fitness assessment.

Stage 4 – competitive selection based on the rating score. For students who graduated from technical and vocational or post-secondary education institutions, the average academic performance score is determined on the basis of the diploma supplement.

Each stage of the competition may be passed only once.

Students who have completed mandatory military service pass the first stage of the competitive selection and are admitted on the basis of their military ID.

Students who do not pass the medical examination are not allowed to participate in the competition.

Students’ physical fitness is assessed according to the results of physical training standards. Students who score less than 9 points based on the results of three standards are considered to have failed this stage of the competition.

Professional psychological testing is conducted in the computer classrooms of higher education institutions and includes assessment of:
    •    motivation
    •    stress resistance
    •    critical thinking
    •    logical thinking
