Transition to a Hybrid Workforce Training Model Discussed at Atyrau University

A seminar titled “Transition from Traditional Educational Programs to a Hybrid Workforce Training Model” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The event brought together faculty deans, heads of departments, and leaders of educational programs.

The seminar speaker was Askhat Chukurov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. During the seminar, key issues were discussed, including current labor market demands, the relevance of academic degrees, and the role of new-format educational programs. Askhat Yeralyuly highlighted the advantages of the hybrid learning model and emphasized the importance of introducing short certificate programs alongside academic degrees in training future specialists.

“A hybrid educational program enables students not only to acquire fundamental knowledge but also to develop practical skills that are in demand in the labor market,” he noted.

Several proposals were discussed during the seminar:

1. Updating educational programs and ensuring the integration of modern professional skills;

2. Developing students’ skills portfolios and incorporating them into the learning process;

3. Including Coursera courses in the official academic registry.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants engaged in an active exchange of views and shared their recommendations.
