“Integrity in Education - Integrity in the Future Generation”
The staff of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University participated online in the national forum “Integrity in Education - Integrity in the Future Generation”, held in Astana and dedicated to promoting academic integrity within the education system.
The event was attended by Bakyt Altynbassov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, as well as Ainur Yensegenova, Deputy Head of the Atyrau Regional Department of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Head of the Secretariat of the Ethics Council.
The forum also brought together high-level officials, including Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Darkhan Zhazykbay, Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Zhuldyz Suleimenova, Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the forum, they addressed the importance of integrity in education and ethical conduct in science and signed a trilateral memorandum of cooperation.
At the event, Salamat Nurmukhanuly Idrissov, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, delivered a report entitled “Strategic Mechanisms for Ensuring Academic Integrity in the Higher Education System.”
Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University defines academic integrity as a core institutional value and a key strategic priority for development. Academic integrity is the foundation of fairness and trust, while trust is a prerequisite for quality education and sustainable progress.
In recent years, the University has implemented a number of systematic measures aimed at strengthening a culture of integrity, including:
• Establishment of an Anti-Corruption Compliance Service;
• Adoption of the Academic Integrity Code;
• Full implementation of proctoring systems during examinations;
• Mandatory use of anti-plagiarism systems;
• Introduction of the ISO 37001:2016 anti-corruption management standard;
• Development of the AI-Sana Academic Integrity Module.
In addition, the regional Zhanaru Research Center has been established to conduct research and preventive work in the field of anti-corruption policy.
To foster a culture of integrity among students, the University offers courses such as “Anti-Corruption Culture” and “Khalel Dosmukhamedov and the Honest Citizen.” Volunteer, environmental, and debate projects are also being successfully implemented to promote integrity values among young people.
