Scientific Seminar “In Vitro Fertilization in Kazakhstan” Held at the University

A scientific seminar titled “In Vitro Fertilization in Kazakhstan: Development and Achievements” was held at Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, organized by the Department of Biology and Fisheries with the participation of experienced clinical embryologists from the “Ecomed-Atyrau” clinic.

The main purpose of the event was to analyze the current level of development of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in Kazakhstan, discuss its scientific and clinical achievements, and present advanced practices and innovative methods. Such academically oriented events are particularly valuable for students of the Biology program, as well as for young researchers, providing opportunities for professional exchange and practical insights.

Representatives of the “Ecomed-Atyrau” clinic, which serves as the department’s practical training base, took part in the seminar, including:

  • Aliya Chapaevna Kamysheva - Director of “Ecomed-Atyrau”;
  • Aibar Abzaluly Karabalin - Head of the Embryology Department, Clinical Embryologist;
  • Altynai Kaiyrbekkyzy Sagynova - Clinical Embryologist;
  • Aibek Aibolatuly Ukibayev - Clinical Embryologist.

The seminar was also attended by faculty members, master’s students, and undergraduate students.

During the seminar, participants listened to comprehensive presentations on modern IVF technologies, the importance of genetic screening, methods of cryopreservation of oocytes and sperm, and recent innovations in embryology. At the conclusion of the event, a discussion was held between faculty members, students, and the invited specialists.

On behalf of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov, a Letter of Appreciation was presented to the “Ecomed-Atyrau” clinic team.

The scientific insights and practical materials shared during the seminar will significantly contribute to deepening the professional knowledge and research skills of students and master’s degree candidates. This event broadened the professional horizon of future biologists and showcased a strong example of integrating scientific knowledge with clinical practice. It proved to be an informative and highly beneficial meeting for young researchers and specialists.
