Turkish Professor Emin Atasoy Conducts Masterclass

A masterclass titled “How to Prepare Scientific Articles for Journals Indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (Master Journal List)” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University with the participation of Turkish professor Emin Atasoy, PhD, a representative of Uludağ University (Bursa) and Honorary Professor at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
The event was organized to teach young researchers and doctoral students how to prepare scientific articles for publication in internationally recognized databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. It was attended by the university’s faculty members, undergraduates, and master’s students.
During the session, Professor Emin Atasoy shared practical advice and mechanisms for publishing in international journals, as well as insights into the differences between the scientific writing styles of post-Soviet and Western scholars. “To write a good scientific article, it is effective to divide the process into three stages: preparation and information gathering, drafting, and editing. Experienced authors recommend allocating time as follows: 70% for preparation and research, 10% for the initial draft, and 20% for revision,” stated Professor Atasoy.
The session covered academic writing standards, criteria for selecting journals, the peer review process, and the development of scientific writing in accordance with international norms. Professor Atasoy also highlighted the achievements of 15 PhD candidates he supervised in Kazakhstan, noting that over 30 of their articles have been published in prestigious journals and more than 6 academic books have been printed abroad.
