Frequently Asked Questions about Academic Mobility and Foreign Citizens’ Stay

● In which countries can I study under the academic mobility program?
You can choose a destination within the Orkhun, Erasmus, or Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan programs, as well as study abroad on a university-funded or self-funded basis in countries of Europe, Asia, and the USA.

● What GPA is required to participate in the academic mobility program?
A GPA of at least 3.0 is required.

● Where can I go if I study on a paid (self-financed) basis?
You can apply for all destinations — any program that interests you is available.

● What documents are required?
List of required documents:

  1. Application form of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

  2. Academic transcript;

  3. Certificate of foreign language proficiency (B2 level, IELTS or TOEFL);

  4. Medical certificate (Form 082/086);

  5. Copy of passport;

  6. Photo (size 3x4);

  7. Admission protocol from the faculty or department.

● Does the university provide temporary registration?
If you are studying in the evening program and do not live in a dormitory,
you must register at the Migration Service at your place of residence within 3 days after crossing the border of Kazakhstan.

If you are studying in the full-time program and live in the university dormitory,
within 3 days after crossing the border, you must obtain a study confirmation letter and registration form from your faculty dean’s office and submit them to the Migration Service of the Atyrau region.

● How can a foreign citizen obtain citizenship of Kazakhstan?
Citizenship is granted in accordance with the Migration Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

● How are the rights of foreign citizens protected in Kazakhstan?
Foreign citizens in Kazakhstan enjoy all rights and freedoms and bear all obligations established by the Constitution, laws, and international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
