
The “Ustaz” School Has Begun the New Academic Year
On Knowledge Day, the first bell rang at the “Ustaz” boarding school for gifted children under Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, marking the official start of the new academic year.
This year, a total of 80 students will study at the school, including 44 children who successfully passed the competitive selection process and were admitted.
Distinguished guests were invited to the ceremonial assembly dedicated to the first bell: Chairman of the Board – Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University Salamat Idrisov, the university’s vice-rectors, deans of faculties, heads of departments, faculty members, as well as Head of the Atyrau Region Department of Education, Marat Abenovich Abuov.
In addition, the event was attended by the school’s social partners – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Atyrau Zharyk JSC, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the school, philanthropist, and Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region Orazgali Karshegenov, as well as Head of the Russian ethno-cultural center “Bylina” and public figure Andrei Korablev.
It is worth noting that, based on the results of the 2024–2025 academic year, 29 out of 43 school graduates became recipients of state educational grants. Among them, 23 chose pedagogical specialties, with 17 receiving grants specifically in pedagogical fields. This year, 16 graduates enrolled at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, including 5 grant holders and 9 admitted on a tuition-paying basis. In total, 23 out of 43 graduates pursued pedagogical specialties, while 20 chose other university programs.
