Research Activity Monitoring and Development Department
Department for the Development of Scientific and Research Activities
The Department of Research Development (RNID Department) is a structural subdivision of the University's Department of Science. It operates on the basis of the AtU Charter and is guided in its practical work by the orders of the Rector and the Regulations of the Department.
The RNID Department coordinates fundamental and applied scientific research, development, and technological activities in close connection with the educational process. The main scientific and organizational issues of the RNID Department are considered by the Scientific and Scientific-Technical Councils of AtU.
The main objectives of the RNID Department are:
- assisting in the training of qualified specialists and scientific-pedagogical staff at the levels of higher and postgraduate education, as well as in the professional development of AtU faculty and researchers;
- organizing, planning, and monitoring AtU’s research activities;
- coordinating and overseeing students’ research work;
- promoting the improvement of international, inter-university, and interdepartmental scientific cooperation, as well as the integration of university and academic science.
In accordance with its assigned tasks and in order to ensure effective scientific activity, the RNID Department performs the following functions:
- utilizing the university’s scientific potential to ensure the required level of specialist training, and promoting the integration of science, education, and high-tech production;
- planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the university’s research, artistic, and creative activities in line with the faculties’ main areas of activity and training profiles;
- developing the university’s thematic research plan for conducting fundamental research and applied developments;
- contributing to the effective solution of urgent scientific and technical problems of socio-economic development;
- improving the quality of specialist training by actively incorporating research results into the educational process and widely involving students in research projects;
- providing methodological assistance to developers in preparing documents to ensure the legal protection of industrial property (such as patent applications for inventions, applications for intellectual property, etc.);
- organizing, monitoring, and analyzing the scientific activities of faculties; arranging and holding scientific conferences; and preparing semi-annual and annual research reports;
- expanding and developing the experimental and production base for scientific research, and creating conditions for the development of scientific and technical products as well as educational laboratories;
- participating in the review of materials prepared for public release in order to prevent premature disclosure of information about technical solutions that may be recognized as inventions.
